Petit d'Albret with Pool - near Monsegur & St. Emilion, South West France
Ideal for families, Petit d'Albret is a charming well equipped two-bedroom centrally heated gîte that
forms part of the Manoir du Cedre Estate parts of which are said to date back to the 17th
century. The gite is ideal for two to four guests plus a baby in a cot. A fifth guest under the age
of 10 years can be accommodated in a Z-bed.

The property is situated in Aquitaine, in St. Martin du Puy, on the edge of the smallest commune in
France, Castelmoron d'Albret. Castelmoron is a pretty, well preserved historic village with a
bar/restaurant, general convenience shop and, for chocoholics, a shop selling homemade
chocolates. These are all within a short walking distance.

Petit d'Albret has been converted from an authentic French pigeonnier. This is an unusual and
interesting architectural feature with beams and a vaulted roof. The property has been beautifully
restored, is well maintained and has its own private terrace.

Bed linen, bath and pool towels are provided free of charge, and will be changed on a weekly
basis. On arrival, clients will receive a welcome pack of groceries and drinks - with the owner's
compliments.
Ground floor:

The double entrance doors open onto a comfortable sitting room with two sofas. French TV,
video/DVD and well-stocked bookcase. Guests are invited to bring their own videos and DVDs.

From the right-hand side of the sitting room a hallway leads to a large attractive twin bedroom
with dressing table, wardrobe, cabinet with hanging space on one side and drawers the other side.
If required, a cot or a Z-bed can be accommodated in this room.

Off the hall is a large walk-in storage room that houses a selection of board games, baby toys and
pool/garden toys.

Shower room with wet room style walk in shower, w.c. and wash hand basin.

First floor:

A hallway is situated to the left of the main ground floor entrance hall and sitting room and leads
to a staircase for the first floor. The accommodation on this floor consists of:

Attractive double bedroom with 4'6" wide bed, dressing table, wardrobe and chest of drawers. En-
suite shower room with w.c. and wash hand basin.

Galleried dining room with dining table and six chairs. Sofa, dresser and large wooden cabinet.
Double doors lead out to private terrace well away from the other accommodation. Radio/CD
player.

The well-equipped kitchen is off the dining room and has a breakfast table with 4 chairs, attractive
vaulted beamed ceiling, traditional cooker and large fridge/freezer. There is also a dishwasher,
washing machine, coffee machine and microwave.

Grounds:

The grounds are fully hedged and fenced, with the main entrance to the estate via a pair of tall
metal gates. The driveway leads to delightful shared grounds of one acre with roses, lavender,
clematis, fruit and walnut trees (guests can help themselves to fruit when in season) and a
gravelled courtyard with Petit d'Albret on one side. The gîte has its own private parking area at
the front. It's sister gite, Les Vignes, is situated on the opposite side of the courtyard and has its
own private terraces and BBQ. The owner's house is at the far end. A feature in the courtyard is
the raised central fountain with gold fish (unfenced).

Situated in a secluded position in the grounds is the enclosed and gated 10m x 5m swimming pool
with roman style steps and a depth of 1m to 2.1m. The pool is surrounded by a fenced terrace
and has 10 sun loungers and some small tables. Please note that the pool may be shared with
other guests staying on the Manoir du Cedre Estate (max six). There is a selection of pool play
items available. This pool is surrounded by lawns and fields and reached by a slight grassy incline.

Petit d'Albret has it's own private terrace looking out to lawns and trees with a wooden dining
table and 4 chairs, two reclining sun loungers with cushions and a stainless steel BBQ.

Guests are free to use the swinging garden seat, a shady hammock, table tennis, badminton and
boules.

...excellent
property,
complete with all
mod cons, more
than you could
rightly expect. The
owner was first
class and her
attention to detail
was brilliant. The
welcome pack
was extremely
thoughtful. Her
home made jam is
to die for as is her
cooking.
